Public spaces in the emirate record surge in footfall during early 2025
DUBAI Municipality's network of parks and recreational facilities recorded over 16.7 million visitors in the first half of 2025, marking an increase of more than 250,000 compared to the same period last year.
The surge reflects the emirate’s rising appeal as a destination for wellness, leisure, and vibrant urban experiences.
What attracted visitors?
Five of Dubai’s major parks – Zabeel Park, Mushrif National Park, Al Safa Park, Al Mamzar Beach Park, and Creek Park – together welcomed 3.7 million visitors.
The city’s 211 public parks collectively drew over 11.4 million people, while Quranic Park attracted around 813,000 visitors. Other popular destinations included Dubai Frame with 748,000 visitors and Children’s City, which received 51,000 guests.
According to Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, the growth reflects both the city’s global appeal and ongoing efforts to elevate recreational infrastructure. “The parks have become year-round community hubs for culture, wellness, and social interaction,” he noted.
How are parks evolving?
Dubai Municipality continues to invest in upgrades to make its public spaces inclusive and accessible. These enhancements align with the Dubai Urban Plan 2040, Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033, and the ‘Dubai Walk’ initiative, which promotes pedestrian-friendly development.
Facilities are designed to international urban planning standards, offering a balance of natural environments with interactive and family-friendly features.

Where were events held?
In the first half of 2025 alone, more than 1,485 events – including sports, cultural, and community activities – were hosted across Dubai’s green spaces. These parks serve as open-air venues that bring together residents, tourists, and families for city-wide gatherings.
Dubai Municipality currently operates over 220 parks and recreational sites, all equipped with modern services and amenities. With a focus on sustainability, community engagement, and enhancing tourism experiences, the city’s green zones remain key drivers of urban life.
